ABOUT THIS PRODUCT:
GTR Versions are currently in development
For R33 GTS-t Nissan Skyline
This is an uprated gearbox mount for an R33 GTS-t Nissan Skyline, built, developed and tested by The Moff Shop and Vibratechnics. We have tested these items on our own car. www.theprojectmoff.co.uk with great results
The product is designed to give uncompromising performance. Durability of the system is significantly improved and in many cases we have replaced OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts which have a notorious reputation for premature failure, particularly when used in performance applications and under extreme driving conditions.
Other benefits include improved handling and driver feel. Lower overall engine movement significantly reduces the stress on engine connections such as inter-cooler pipes, fuel lines, exhaust systems etc. Clearance between the engine and other critical parts such as a strut brace and other under bonnet hardware is maintained.
The engine and transmission is typically a 200+kg mass swinging around under the bonnet of your car like a pendulum on its original equipment mounts. There are two primary ways this affects the handling.
1) Physical movement of the mounts under extreme accelerating, braking and cornering. This actually shifts the centre of gravity of the car in the worst possible direction. This can severely affect the car balance at the most critical time. When you control this physical movement of the drivetrain, it can significantly improve the precision feel to the handling, especially on a car running competition tyres and suspension.
2) Secondary ride, sometimes called “engine shake” is the movement of the engine caused by bump inputs from the main suspension system causing the engine to wobble on its mounts. In extreme cases, it can be an unpleasant thumping sensation. The very large engine mass shaking around will cause unwanted dynamic forces on the car.
